About the Course
The Licensed Conveyancing course is of interest to the student who wishes to become either a property lawyer or to work with a property developer, bank, financial institutions, building society or a local authority with an in-house conveyancing department.

Licensed conveyancers are trained and educated in all aspects of the law dealing with land law and leases. They are the equivalent of a Conveyancing solicitor and they can advise on buying and selling of property.

Entrance Requirements
4 GCSE passes (or equivalent) in English Language and 3 other approved subjects at A, B or C. However mature students over 25 years old without qualifications may be accepted with relevant practical experience. Law graduates can apply for exemption from subjects they have passed in.

Duration:
2 years (part time) but a full time student may be able to finish the course earlier.

Examinations dates
Examinations are held twice a year, in January and June.


Closing dates:
1st April for June sitting and 1st November for January sitting.


Tuition and study
Full time course is taught by formal lectures, directed study and tutorials. Classes are provided for 15 hours a week for three days between 10.00am and 5.00pm.
Part-time classes take place on Monday and / or Tuesday between 6.00pm and 9.00pm. Part time weekend classes are available only on Saturday between 2.00pm and 5.00pm. Part-time students must mention on the application form their preference of attendance.

Course commencement dates:

September and February every year

Assessment / Examination
Combination of both written examinations and set of assignments. (2 subjects by 100% assignments)
